News From the Border

Providing the news from a different front but from a war that we must win as well! I recognize the poverty and desperate conditions that many Latinos live in. We, as the USA, have a responsibility to do as much as we can to reach out to aid and assist spiritually with the Gospel and naturally with training, technology and resources. Border agent returns to duty after killing of illegal immigrant

By Jonathan Clark

Herald/Review

BISBEE — A Border Patrol agent who shot and killed an illegal Mexican immigrant near Naco last month has returned to work while local prosecutors determine whether to file criminal charges against him.

Jesus Rodriguez, spokesman at the Border Patrol’s Tucson Sector headquarters, confirmed Monday that the agent had returned to full-duty service at the agency’s Naco station, though he could not say what date he was reinstated or what duty he is performing.

“He may not be in the field, they may have him doing some stuff within the station,” Rodriguez said. “He is back to full duty, though, so he is carrying a weapon.”
