Mexican man found guilty of meth smuggling

Smuggling nearly 13 pounds of methamphetamine into Arizona may get a Mexican man life behind bars and a multi-million dollar fine.

Mexican national Jose Cardenas-Mendoza, 40, was found guilty earlier this week of intent to distribute methamphetamine and importation of meth, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Arizona.

Cardenas-Mendoza was stopped at the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry in Nogales in September 2005, where a search uncovered the drug in a hidden compartment of his pickup truck, prosecutors said.
