News From the Border

Providing the news from a different front but from a war that we must win as well! I recognize the poverty and desperate conditions that many Latinos live in. We, as the USA, have a responsibility to do as much as we can to reach out to aid and assist spiritually with the Gospel and naturally with training, technology and resources. But poverty gives no one the right to break the laws of another sovereign nation.

One man was shot and another was injured after about a dozen suspected illegal immigrants were held at gunpoint in a house in Phoenix Monday night.

Police believe that an argument took place between one or more illegal immigrants in the home at 4315 W. Earll Drive.

Police suspect one or more smugglers were demanding additional payment and were holding the illegal immigrants at gunpoint.

The shooting happened soon after.

Officers responded to a call at the home and found blood inside the empty house.

Police found a man with multiple gunshot wounds outside a house down the street.

He was taken to the hospital with what police called life-threatening injuries.

Police found a second man in the area who had sustained multiple cuts and lacerations.
