A man and a woman were arrested after El Paso police found 67 pounds of marijuana Sunday afternoon while responding to a call of a possible burglary and kidnapping at a home in the 1700 block of Ruddy Quail Lane on the far East Side, a police spokesman said.

Police found no burglary or kidnapping but found the drugs when they went into a home after a woman matched the description in a supposed kidnapping involving a white pickup. Inside the garage, police found a man hiding and a white pickup with marijuana.

Jorge Daniel Hernandez, 21, of Juárez, and Veronica Gallegos, 25, of the Ruddy Quail address, were charged with possession of more than 50 pounds of marijuana.
