Human smuggler sentenced to more than 8 years in prison following guilty plea
Wilberto Calderon-Yero, 30, pleaded guilty Sept. 13 to transporting illegal aliens for profit that resulted in death.
The charges stem from a July 2007 vehicle rollover crash that resulted in the death of three illegal aliens that Calderon-Yero was unlawfully transporting. According to ICE, Calderon-Yero fled from a routine traffic stop by Natalia police and this is where the subsequent chase reached speeds of 100 mph.
