We, as the USA, have a responsibility to do as much as we can to reach out to aid and assist spiritually with the Gospel and naturally with training, technology and resources. But poverty gives no one the right to break the laws of another sovereign nation.

A 23-year-old woman from China was rescued from an El Paso canal by Border Patrol agents Saturday after an unsuccessful attempt to sneak into the United States, agency officials said Tuesday.

The woman was treated at Thomason Hospital and later jailed at the immigration detention center, where she will await deportation, officials said.

The rescue took place at 2 p.m., after agents chased a group of 10 people east of Fonseca Drive.

The migrants ran back to Mexico, leaving the woman behind in the American Canal.
