News From the Border

Providing the news from a different front but from a war that we must win as well! I recognize the poverty and desperate conditions that many Latinos live in. We, as the USA, have a responsibility to do as much as we can to reach out to aid and assist spiritually with the Gospel and naturally with training, technology and resources. But poverty gives no one the right to break the laws of another sovereign nation.

After receiving a call from a concerned citizen Wednesday morning, Yuma sector Border Patrol agents found 60 illegal immigrants from Mexico hiding in a Yuma home and utility shed.

The house, on Linda Lane in Yuma, was the second drop house Yuma sector agents busted this week.

Many of the immigrants were women and children who said they had been in the house for as long as four days. All of the windows were closed and the temperatures inside the home were "sweltering," according to a Border Patrol news release.

None of the aliens required medical treatment.

"As is typical with drop houses, the home was filthy, with garbage strewn throughout the interior and exterior of the residence and the house had no electricity," Hays said.
