JUAREZ -- One hundred fifty federal agents arrived Saturday in Juárez to help control a rash of violence in which several police officials have been gunned down, authorities said.
The federal agents will help local police expand street patrols, officials said.
"This is the response we expected for days from the federal government," said Guillermo Prieto Quintana, public safety secretary.
Since Jan. 1, Juárez has had more than 50 homicides. The victims have included police officers and commanders.
