News From the Border

Providing the news from a different front but from a war that we must win as well! I recognize the poverty and desperate conditions that many Latinos live in. We, as the USA, have a responsibility to do as much as we can to reach out to aid and assist spiritually with the Gospel and naturally with training, technology and resources. Some Mexican border police stations surrounded

Associated Press - January 22, 2008 3:54 PM ET

Mexican soldiers today surrounded some police stations in an anti-crime and corruption investigation.

In the border state of Tamaulipas (tom-uh-LEEP'-us), across from Texas, dozens of soldiers in armored cars surrounded the police stations in Nuevo Laredo, Matamoros and Reynosa.

The Associated Press reports the soldiers were trying to check whether weapons, radios and phones used by the officers were connected to a crime.

No arrests were reported.

AP reports that after about two hours, the police officers were allowed back on the streets.
