News From the Border

Providing the news from a different front but from a war that we must win as well! I recognize the poverty and desperate conditions that many Latinos live in. We, as the USA, have a responsibility to do as much as we can to reach out to aid and assist spiritually with the Gospel and naturally with training, technology and resources. Homicide suspect taken to San Luis R.C.

FROM STAFF REPORTS

January 16, 2008 - 9:28PM

A Mexican national wanted for murder was arrested Tuesday night in Phoenix and turned over to Mexican authorities in San Luis Rio Colorado, Son., that same night.

According to Mexican authorities, Castro-Arellano was wanted in connection to a kidnapping and ransom in March 2000 that resulted in the strangulation death of his cousin.

Mexican authorities say they believe Castro-Arellano fled to the United States, entering illegally, and remained there until marshals arrested him in September 2003 in Dallas, Texas.

Castro-Arellano was deported but somehow managed to elude Mexican authorities and return illegally to the United States.

After his arrest Tuesday night, which was without incident, Castro-Arellano was voluntarily deported and turned over to the Agencia Federal de Investigacion at the San Luis port of entry.
