Tucson, Arizona | Published: 03.08.2007

HERMOSILLO, Sonora — The terrorization of Sonoran police agencies continued Tuesday with the killing of two state officers in Cananea and Hermosillo, Sonora.

This followed the slaying of an officer in Hermosillo on Monday.

Also, the headquarters of the Sonora Security Police office in Hermosillo was the target Tuesday of three separate shooting incidents.

Early Tuesday, Officer Hero Arturo Gálvez Acosta, 29, was found on a residential street of Hermosillo, with a knife stuck in his chest. His hands and feet were bound.

A hand grenade was found next to the body, along with a note of warning directed to state and municipal police pinned to his chest with the knife.
