Providing the news from a different front but from a war that we must win as well! I recognize the poverty and desperate conditions that many Latinos live in. We, as the USA, have a responsibility to do as much as we can to reach out to aid and assist spiritually with the Gospel and naturally with training, technology and resources. Mexican mayor probed as drug violence rages

Mexico City - Mexico is investigating Acapulco's mayor for possible links to drug cartels after a series of bloody attacks that have turned the once glamorous Pacific Ocean resort into a gangland battleground.

Federal police chief Genaro Garcia Luna said mayor Felix Salgado is under investigation as part of the government's nationwide drive against the cartels.

Salgado, a leftist, says he has received a string of death threats from drug gangs and professed his innocence in a radio interview on Tuesday. "Let them investigate, they are not going to discover anything at all."

Violence spreading across the country reached a quiet village in the northern state Chihuahua on Tuesday, when police said they uncovered a shallow grave with four bodies inside.
