We, as the USA, have a responsibility to do as much as we can to reach out to aid and assist spiritually with the Gospel and naturally with training, technology and resources. TIJUANA, Mexico – One of Mexico's most controversial mayors said Monday he wants his former chief bodyguard, a convicted murderer, back at his side once his ”very good friend” leaves jail.

Tijuana mayor Jorge Hank Rhon also said Antonio Vera Palestina, behind bars for killing a journalist, should be released early because he had spent enough time in prison.

“I would love it if he was once again back with me. I would really like him to accompany us again,” Hank Rhon told reporters in this U.S. border city. “It would be good that they let him free because of the time that has elapsed.”

Vera Palestina was sentenced to 27 years in prison in 1999 for the murder 11 years earlier of Hector Felix Miranda, co-director of the investigative magazine Zeta, which specializes in reporting on drug gangs.
