Providing the news from a different front but from a war that we must win as well! I recognize the poverty and desperate conditions that many Latinos live in. We, as the USA, have a responsibility to do as much as we can to reach out to aid and assist spiritually with the Gospel and naturally with training, technology and resources. But poverty gives no one the right to break the laws of another sovereign nation.

Agents seize $1.2 million in narcotics

Border agents have seized $1.2 million of narcotics in six arrests for attempted smuggling last week in San Luis, Ariz., according to a news release.

According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection press release:

  • On Aug. 1, agents arrested a 20-year-old man from Somerton when they found 69 pounds of marijuana hidden in the speaker boxes in his car.
  • On Aug. 3, agents arrested a 30-year-old man from Yucaipa, Calif., after finding three pounds of heroin in the shoes he was wearing.
  • On Aug. 3, agents arrested a 17-year-old male juvenile from Somerton, and an 18-year-old woman from San Luis after finding 160 pounds of marijuana hidden inside of the speaker boxes in the car he was driving.
  • On Aug. 4, agents arrested a 33-year-old woman from San Luis Rio Colorado, Son., when they found more than five pounds of heroin in a pair of shoes in the trunk.
  • On Aug. 6, agents arrested a 19-year-old man from San Luis Rio Colorado after finding more than a pound and a half of marijuana taped to his body.
