REYNOSA — Mexican police are scrambling to solve three unrelated murders in three days that include a decapitated woman and two gunmen tied to drug traffickers who may have fled to the United States.

Police found the latest victim, a decapitated woman, early Thursday morning.

The body was lying in the middle of Calle Rio Sabinas, near the corner of the road to Rivareña, said Leonel Lozano Gutierrez, head of the Tamaulipas police in Reynosa.

A pickup truck ran over what appeared to be a pile of trash at 1 a.m. Gutierrez said. It was the woman’s body covered in a beige curtain.
