News From the Border

Providing the news from a different front but from a war that we must win as well! I recognize the poverty and desperate conditions that many Latinos live in. We, as the USA, have a responsibility to do as much as we can to reach out to aid and assist spiritually with the Gospel and naturally with training, technology and resources. But poverty gives no one the right to break the laws of another sovereign nation.

Ballot measure has cops enforcing border laws

The Associated Press

Advocates for tougher border enforcement say the Legislature needs to act on a proposed ballot measure that would draw local and state police in Arizona deeper into the fight against illegal immigration.

The measure would prohibit agencies from restricting the enforcement of federal immigration laws and withhold state funding for departments that refuse to end such policies. It also would expand a state trespassing law to make it illegal for an undocumented immigrant to enter Arizona.

The proposal is awaiting a final vote in the state House.
