Nearly 6,500 pounds of marijuana confiscated in 35 busts by customs officers this week in the El Paso area included a 2,796-pound seizure Thursday at the Zaragoza Bridge, officials said Friday.

In its largest bust of the week, Customs and Border Protection agents found the marijuana concealed in a false compartment of a tractor-trailer that appeared to be shipping a load of Styrofoam cups bound for the U.S. from Mexico. No arrests were made in the case, officials said.
