TIJUANA: A group of armed men opened fire inside Rosarito Beach's police station yesterday afternoon in an attack that left one officer dead and another wounded, Baja California authorities said.

Two unidentified civilians were also wounded during the assault at 12:40 p.m., according to a news release from the state Attorney General's Office.

The officers worked as bodyguards for the city's public security director, state authorities said. The director wasn't in the building during the attack.
