We, as the USA, have a responsibility to do as much as we can to reach out to aid and assist spiritually with the Gospel and naturally with training, technology and resources. But poverty gives no one the right to break the laws of another sovereign nation.

CBP Officers Seize Nearly $10 Million in Cocaine Hidden in Van; 2 Arrested

Laredo, Texas –U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers yesterday discovered $9.6 million worth of cocaine being smuggled in a van into the United States through the Laredo, Texas Port of Entry. This seizure resulted in the arrest of two Florida residents and follows other significant narcotics seizures valued at $5.2 million at Laredo from the past week.

The seizure occurred just after midnight at Gateway to the America Bridge. CBP officers referred a 2005 GMC Savana driven by Reina Galarza Ayala, 30, a Mexican citizen residing in Arcadia, Fla. for a secondary examination. CBP officers noted discrepancies in the vehicle’s roof area. Upon further examination, officers discovered brick-like packages containing a total of 302 pounds of cocaine in the entertainment console/roof area

The cocaine has an estimated street value of $9.6 million.
