News From the Border

Providing the news from a different front but from a war that we must win as well! I recognize the poverty and desperate conditions that many Latinos live in. We, as the USA, have a responsibility to do as much as we can to reach out to aid and assist spiritually with the Gospel and naturally with training, technology and resources. But poverty gives no one the right to break the laws of another sovereign nation.

YUMA - A U.S. Border Patrol agent was injured early Thursday after illegal immigrants attacked him with baseball-sized rocks, officials said.

The attack occurred as the agent was apprehending an immigrant near San Luis.

The agent went to the area after a camera operator observed seven people enter the U.S. illegally, said Lloyd Easterling, a Border Patrol spokesman. Five of the people ran back toward Mexico while two others hid in the bushes.

The agent apprehended the two who were hiding without incident, then pursued the other five immigrants, Easterling said. He spotted one of them near the base of the border fence and was struggling with him when two others climbed to the top of the fence on the Mexican side and began pelting him with rocks.
