Providing the news from a different front but from a war that we must win as well! I recognize the poverty and desperate conditions that many Latinos live in. We, as the USA, have a responsibility to do as much as we can to reach out to aid and assist spiritually with the Gospel and naturally with training, technology and resources. But poverty gives no one the right to break the laws of another sovereign nation.

Some excited, others unaware of presidential visit

Some Yumans are excited, some are ready to protest and others aren't sure what to think on the eve of President George W. Bush's visit.

Some people were unaware Wednesday of the president's stop in Yuma, while others wished they knew more about his plans.

"I think it's kind of interesting that he decided to come to Yuma," said Fred Hancewicz, a winter visitor who was at the main Yuma County Library. "Having the Marine Corps Air Station here makes it easy to drop in."

Just about everyone The Sun spoke with said that if Bush wanted to get a taste of life on the
border and take a firsthand look at the illegal immigration issue, he was making the right choice in coming to Yuma.
