Yuma sector U.S. Border Patrol agents found three illegal immigrants hiding in an abandoned water truck Wednesday morning.
The water truck is the latest unconventional hiding spot where agents have discovered illegal immigrants.
Illegal immigrants previously have been found in the Yuma sector hiding in boats, packed into recreational vehicles, loaded into tractor-trailers, and most recently, hiding out by the dozens in an empty silo.
Agents found the trio in the water truck at Avenue 15E and County 3rd Street after receiving a citizen tip about a "suspicious vehicle," according to a Border Patrol news release.
The three illegal immigrants were part of a group of five who had apparently been abandoned by their smuggler.
