News From the Border

Providing the news from a different front but from a war that we must win as well! I recognize the poverty and desperate conditions that many Latinos live in. We, as the USA, have a responsibility to do as much as we can to reach out to aid and assist spiritually with the Gospel and naturally with training, technology and resources. But poverty gives no one the right to break the laws of another sovereign nation.

Agents nab 24 at drop house

FROM STAFF REPORTS

U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested 24 illegal aliens Monday morning at a Yuma home where the aliens were being kept until they could be smuggled deeper into the U.S.

A tip from an illegal alien already in custody led the agents to the home on 20th Lane at 6:30 a.m.

The patrol said the alien told agents he had been kept in the home for about a week and a half as smugglers arranged for his transportation deeper into the U.S. He said several aliens were still inside the home.

The patrol declined to say how or why the alien left the house since the smuggling case remains under investigation.

Following up on the alien's tip, agents found the 24 immigrants throughout the garbage-strewn home, the patrol said.
